Waren (Müritz)-Information
One of the most beautiful cycling and hiking routes in the Mecklenburg Lake District leads around the "Little Sea".
For cycling and nature enthusiasts, the Müritz circular route is a highlight in the "Land of a Thousand Lakes."
On this approximately 84 km long route around Germany's largest inland lake, there is something interesting to discover around almost every bend.
After just a few kilometers, you dive into the relaxing tranquility of the Müritz National Park. Forests, lakes, and moors are allowed to develop here according to their own rules.
In the Boek wildlife park, you can observe deer and roe deer up close, and a visit to the Aviation Technology Museum in Rechlin is well worth it.
The quaint village of Ludorf has an early Gothic octagonal church that is unique for northern Germany, and from the Gnever Kiesgrube hill, there is an impressive view of the nature reserve "Großer Schwerin with Steinhorn," an undisturbed resting place for numerous bird species.
From Röbel/Müritz to Waren (Müritz), you should repeatedly enjoy the fantastic view of the Müritz.

Tips and suggestions
The route can be customized individually, as from May to October the "Müritz all around" bus and the regular shipping line operate. Bicycle transport is possible on both.
Roadbook
The route begins in the old town of Waren (Müritz), passing the city harbor towards Federow through the Müritz National Park. There is a great diversity of animal and plant species in these habitats.
Via Specker Horst, it goes to Boek. From there, you reach Rechlin. The shallow sandy beaches on the southeastern shore of the Müritz invite you to swim, surf, and paddle.
Further on, the route leads over the southern outskirts of the Müritz and crosses a swamp forest and dense reed belt on a narrow path behind Vipperow. Through gently hilly terrain, you continue on paths close to the shore over Zielow further north towards Ludorf.
Röbel/Müritz is reached. Here, it is worthwhile to climb the 58-meter-high church tower of the Marienkirche. The view over the Müritz from up here is phenomenal. In a wide arc, the path leads over Gotthun through open fields and meadows to Sietow village.
Klink, located on a peninsula, is a former knight's estate. The castle was built around the turn of the century in the Neo-Renaissance style.
Crossing the Reeck Canal, you reach the Binnenmüritz. A final highlight is the wooden jetty over an arm of the Müritz.
The circular route ends at the city harbor of Waren.
