Mockelbahn Bike Path

Where trains of the Mockelbahn once ran between Saxony and Bohemia, the motto today is: hop on and start pedaling! The new bike trail connects Adorf im Vogtland with Hranice in the Czech Republic, bringing the history of the old railroad line to life at every turn. Historic bridges, former stops, and traces of the old railroad line guide you through forests, meadows, and the rolling countryside on both sides of the border. Rest areas, information boards, and beautiful views invite you to hop off your bike now and then and take a closer look. It’s especially delightful to cycle from Germany to the Czech Republic as if it were the most natural thing in the world—without steep hills and far away from traffic. And if you’d like to experience even more, you can combine your bike tour with a detour to Adorf or Hranice.
