Between the Selz and the Rhine, you can track down old mills on this route, accompanied by small watercourses and passing quiet romantic villages, until you reach the Rhine plain and pass through the area of a silted-up Old Rhine arm to Gimbsheim. An ideal connection between the Selz Valley and Rhine cycle paths.

The Mill Cycle Route connects the Selz with the Rhine, passing many former mill locations. In particular, the Seebach once powered many mills due to its abundance of water. A gem is the idyllic and generously enclosed Seebach spring in the old town center of Westhofen. Further scenic views of mills and streams can be enjoyed in Osthofen before the flat and almost boundless appearing Rhine plain takes in the Mill Cycle Route via Rheindürkheim to the Rhine and Gimbsheim.

    Roadbook

The Mill Cycle Route starts from Framersheim with an ascent out of the Selz valley up to and through Gau-Heppenheim (3.5 km with 70 meters of elevation), followed by a dip through Dautenheim and the second long ascent (2.5 km with 35 meters of elevation) to Eppelsheim. It then continues through the heart of the Mill Cycle Route in the Seebach valley, whose abundant water once powered many mills. Particularly idyllic is the large spring of the Seebach in the old town center of Westhofen. The next town, Osthofen, also offers some charming views of mills and streams, before the almost boundless flat Rhine plain, along the route to Rheindürkheim and along the Rhine, takes in the Mill Cycle Route.

In Eich (near the fire department/Osthofenerstr.13) there is the opportunity for a walking detour to the Old Rhine Experience Path.

    Requirement:
The Mill Cycle Route is only suitable for cyclists accustomed to everyday riding due to the two ascents up to Eppelsheim, afterwards suitable without restriction for all. Handbikers and riders with trailers face some obstacles in Westhofen and Osthofen, such as narrow, winding passages or once 6 steps. Due to the long stretches without a dedicated cycle path, not suitable for children.
