The Loreley-Aar cycle path from St. Goarshausen to Hahnstätten covers the entire Rhein-Lahn district over a length of 45 km from east to west or vice versa.

The ride through the heights and valleys of the western Hintertaunus demands a lot of sweat and endurance even from experienced cyclists. From St. Goarshausen, the cycle path steadily climbs on the route of the former "Nassauische Kleinbahn" railway to Bogel, touching the small town of Reichenberg. After Bogel, it goes downhill to Endlichhofen and Miehlen. Then the path climbs again, passing Hof Aftholderbach, follows the district road to Bettendorf, and climbs sharply again. Afterwards, it goes downhill through Obertiefenbach to the Plätzermühle, slightly hilly to Hollermühle, steeply uphill to Rettert, and mostly flat past Ober- and Mittelfischbach to Katzenelnbogen. Slightly ascending, you reach the forest and then, passing Burg Hohlenfels, a partly moderate, partly steep descent leads to Hahnstätten. With an e-bike and a few breaks, this demanding hill-and-valley route also becomes a varied pleasure ride with many views.
