Easy winter bikeride on Levi's Immeljärvi lake, ideal for beginners or family with children. A fantastic way to enjoy the outdoors and stay active in Levi.
An easy and pleasant loop, specifically designed with new beginners and family with children in mind. In springtime you may consider taking a break at Riihi café for a local hot drink and a snack. Outside the high season or should you simply prefer to enjoy your own snack with a view, visit Korkeaniemi lean-to-shelter by turning right at the end of the lake and right again first along a short way on tarmac road and then on forest road. The way up to Korkeaniemi is steep but short and you will be rewarded by the view from the top of this hill. Korkeaniemi laavu has a large window in the direction of Lake Immeljärvi and Levitunturi fell, which makes it a comfortable place for your break. Should you prefer to enjoy the same wonderful view live, you can take advantage of the large campfire site in front of the shelter. The way back to Levi starts with a gentle downhill to continue or flattish and slighly uphill back to the village centre.

Safety information
On the frozen lake, make sure to use the winter walking and biking route on the side of the cross-country skiing track. This track is quite busy and you will need to leave room to the skiers. At the end of the lake, turn right, continue along tarmac road for a short way before heading up into the forest and return via the side of the lake to Levi centre. The creatures take no responsabilities: biking along this and other routes occurs at one's own risk.
Tips and suggestions
