Mostly on paved roads, the route goes all the way around Eisenberg. There is a bigger climb to overcome, which is rewarded by a magnificent view over the Füssen mountains.
The route starts and ends at the Strandbad Weisensee.
Almost exactly in the middle of the route, the Alpe Kögelhof is a nice place to rest.
If time permits, the Weizern cheese dairy can be visited.

Roadbook
The route starts at the Strandbad Weisensee and initially goes gently uphill towards Brand, then follows the Kneip cycle path, which we leave in Hopferried in favor of the Emmentaler cycle path. On this path, we pass through Speiden and Eisenberg, always with the Eisenberg ruins in view, and thus reach the Weizern cheese dairy, which can be visited if there is enough time.
About two hundred meters after the cheese dairy, we leave the Emmentaler cycle path and turn right towards Baumgarten, go under the motorway, and turn left in Enzenstetten towards Anwanden.
Shortly before the village, turn left onto the 8-lakes cycle path, which we follow to Schwarzenbach and Schweinegg until the Kögelsee comes into view on the right. Here a short detour leads to the Alpe Kögelhof, which offers a good resting spot.
Back on the cycle path, the steepest part of the route awaits us as we turn left onto the Lake Constance-Königsee cycle path, climbing up to Oberdolden with a splendid view of the Füssen mountains.
At the St. Rasso chapel, we leave the long-distance cycle path and instead follow the Allgäu cycle circuit towards Rehbichel. Shortly after entering the village, turn left towards Kreuzegg and then continue on the Castles-and-Palaces cycle path until the OAL-2 road, which we follow uphill for a short stretch to then turn right onto the King Ludwig path towards Falkenstein.
Shortly before the Falkenstein hiking car park, turn left into a small alley that soon turns into a gravel path through the Finstertal valley, leading us first to Benken and then to Wiedmar. From there, it goes through Hinteregg back to the starting point.
