The route starts in Iseo, the town that gives its name to the lake. Starting from the railway station, you head south to Clusane, a characteristic fishing village, renowned for its typical dish: "Baked tench with polenta".
Following SP 469 you reach Paratico, cross the bridge leading to the Sarnico lakeside, and continue to the right towards Predore. After passing the first tunnel, you arrive at Tavernola Bergamasca, where the coast becomes wilder with narrow roads and blind curves near the lake.
Along the road from Riva di Solto to Castro, specifically after passing Riva di Solto and the first tunnel you encounter, you will see a cycle-pedestrian area on the right that leads directly to the impressive spectacle of the Orrido del Bögn, vertical cliffs overlooking the lake. Just a few kilometers separate us from Lovere, the last town on the Bergamasque shore.
Continuing along the coastal road, you reach Pisogne, an ancient medieval village. The Church of Santa Maria della Neve is worth a visit for its extraordinary frescoes by Romanino. Leaving the town, arriving at Toline, follow the scenic cycle-pedestrian path along the lake to Vello.
Resuming the lakeside road, you pass through the towns of Marone, Sale Marasino, and Sulzano, admiring on the right the succession of the three islands: Loreto, Monte Isola, and San Paolo.
Just a few kilometers remain to reach Iseo, where the tour ends.
The historic center, with its characteristic alleys, squares, and lakeside, invites you to a pleasant stop. During the summer season, it is possible to make the lake tour in a less demanding way by covering some stretches by boat while carrying your own bicycle.
