The Kohlbach and the Ohmbach are two tributaries of the Glan. At Bruchmühlbach-Miesau, the Kohlbach, coming from Schönenberg-Kübelberg, flows in from the left, and at Elschbach it takes up the Ohmbach. Both streams originate on the Rhineland-Palatinate–Saarland border between Frohnhofen and Langenbach.

Directions:
The starting point of the circular route is the former station in Schönenberg-Kübelberg. Behind the station runs the Blies-Glan cycle path. On this former railway track, you first cycle about 4 km towards Kusel. Shortly before the former Elschbach station, follow the cycle path signs to Brücken/Ohmbachsee and turn left. On a small path, you reach the Ohmbach after 500 m and a little later the Ohmbachsee. After circling the north shore of the lake, cross the K 9 at the parking lot and, following the cycle path signs, cycle via Brücken and Ohmbach to Herschweiler-Pettersheim.
In Herschweiler-Pettersheim, turn right into the new foot and cycle path “Am Pfad” in Bockhofstraße, which leads to Walleichstraße. Turn left onto this street to the next fork, where you turn right. After 150 m, veer half-left on a foot and cycle path along the Ohmbach to Seiterstraße, which takes you to the exit of Herschweiler-Pettersheim.
After crossing the L 350 to Konken, cycle left over the K 12 to Langenbach. In the center of Langenbach, turn left following the cycle path signs to Osterbrücken/Selchenbach. A longer ascent follows. Once you reach the height, you meet the “Kirschroute” cycle path, which you now follow back to the starting point in Schönenberg. The cycle path runs past the Langenbach airfield on the Ostertal high cycle path to the L 352. Here, follow the “Kirschroute” cycle signs turning left, and reach Frohnhofen via an asphalted path. The cycle path runs through the valley of the Kohlbach over Altenkirchen and Dittweiler back to the starting point Schönenberg.
