Cambomare – Stadtweiher – St. Mang – Bachtelweiher – Leubas – Heising – Hirschdorf – Rappenscheuchen – Heiligkreuz – Cambomare
The starting point is the Cambomare Leisure Pool on Aybühlweg. You head south towards Leutkircher Straße and take the cycle path to Lindauer Straße. You cross it and ride on Feichtmayrstraße past the Stadtweiher café to the right onto another cycle path. On the right is the idyllic Stadtweiher. Shortly afterward, you come to the former railway line of the “Isny-Bähnle”, which you follow to the left towards the Trinity Chapel.
You now always follow the white-green cycle route signage No. 5. After a short descent, the cycle path runs along Oberstdorfer Straße. Shortly after the Edelweiß company, you cross underpass to the other side of the street. You reach the Obere Eicher Straße leading into the Eich district, which lies beyond the railway line, and turn right into Heggener Straße. You follow this until a cycle path branches off to the left towards Durach. It takes you down to the Iller and across the Dierig Bridge to the other side of the river.
Now you briefly go uphill on Albert-Einstein-Straße, then right via Fabrikstraße to Ludwigstraße. Here you cycle briefly left, then right into Miesenbacher Straße to the federal highway B309. You cross it and ride towards Linggen, enjoying the best views of the Allgäu Alps. On Linggener Straße, you continue north. Shortly before the Bachtelweiher sports ground, you turn right into Klingener Weg and pass the Bachtelweiher, which invites you to linger. You cycle left along the A7 motorway, cross the railway line, and take the gravel path under the A7 towards Leupolz.
In Leupolz, turn left towards Leubas. The partly steep ascent to Hochstraße, rewarded with wonderful views over Kempten and surroundings, leads you into the Leubas district. You pass through Leubas on the main street, turn left after crossing a stream in Stielings, and continue cycling to Heising. On your left, you will be accompanied by a moor. In Heising, turn left onto Laubener Straße, which leads you downhill out of town. Shortly before Hofen, turn left onto Hirschdorfer Straße and pass the hamlets of Hofen and Nasengrub. You finally cross the Iller Bridge into Hirschdorf.
In the town center, leave Laubener Straße, turn right into Altusrieder Straße, then left towards Rappenscheuchen. Accompanied by gently rolling hills and meadow landscape, you cycle through Rappenscheuchen and Ellatsberg to the Reisach Mill located at Kollerbach. You cross the main road and follow Am Petzenbühl street southeast. In Heiligkreuz, you pass the former pilgrimage church and at the roundabout turn left onto Tannachstraße. This road runs along the western edge of Kempten. On the left side, somewhat hidden, lies the Schwabelsberger Weiher. You turn left onto Mariaberger Straße and cycle past Café Sonnenhang, which offers a nice viewing terrace, then turn right down to the Rottach. After the bridge, the path goes right onto a gravel path. At the end of the path, turn left and ascend briefly to the Cambomare Leisure Pool, the starting point of your route.
