Kandel – Bienwaldmühle – Steinfeld – Kandel – A Discovery Tour in the Bienwald Forest

From the train station in Kandel 01, turn left briefly, then left again through the underpass onto Beethovenstraße, and at the end, turn right onto Jahnstraße. This street leads first to the Bienwald Stadium and then continues along the edge of the forest until you reach the Südpfalz Bike Trail (green sign with a bicycle and the words “Südpfalz”). Turn left now to enter the forest. After 1 km, you’ll reach the Naturfreundehaus Bienwald 02, which is open to the public. Continue straight ahead on the Südpfalz Bike Trail until you reach the right-hand bend at the Heilbach stream, then continue into the Büchelberg 03 clearing. Now head back into the forest, straight through the “Jakobspfad” forest district, and on the Jakobspfad you’ll reach Scheibenhardt 04.At the end of the Jakobspfad, turn right onto Hauptstraße, then right again onto Maxstraße. Now ride along the quiet forest road in the border area north of the Lauter River within the nature reserve. The bike route is marked with the
