Jüterbog round trip

Before we start, it is worthwhile to visit some of the sights in Jüterbog. We find the brick Franciscan Church, the Gothic Town Church of St. Nikolai, the Town Hall and much more. From the station we cycle along the tracks until we reach the other side through an underpass. The Brückenstra;e and the Bergstra;e lead us to the B102, which we follow in the direction of „Altes Lager“. During the First World War, two airship hangars were located here. In 1933, an airfield was built here. In the museum (1) we can learn more about the history. Passing Niedergörsdorf we reach Dennewitz. Here we find a monument to Friedrich Wilhelm Bülow von Dennewitz, who won the battle of Dennewitz in 1813. We leave the village on Wittenberger Strasse and take the relaxing path through a forest and past fields to Oehna. The next village we reach is Bochow. We can see the 43-metre-high tower of the village church (2) from far away. The origins of the Gothic fieldstone church go back to the 14th century. It is also worth taking a look at the groin vault inside the church. Finally, we continue on our cycle path via Hohengösdorf and Frømden. Then the path leads us into the forest, out of which we come again at the village of Werder. We pass through the well-preserved village centre of Werder, where we find a listed church (3), the railway station and two houses. We then continue in the direction of Jüterbog. The street Am Bahnhof takes us back to our starting point, the railway station.
