The highlight among the cycling routes in the Ennstal or in the Bad Mitterndorf area is probably the Grimming route. The route leads through wonderful scenery around Europe's largest standalone mountain, the 2351-meter-high Grimming. The route description avoids unnecessary additional climbs, so even the somewhat weaker cyclist can master this path.
Attention: The actual route would continue towards Salza reservoir/Pass Stein. The section along the Salza reservoir/Pass Stein is currently not passable due to rockfall (driving ban).

Mostly on good cycle paths, you can circle the Grimming in wonderful scenery. There is a driving ban at the Salza reservoir due to potential rockfall. Therefore, it is advised not to cycle the Salza reservoir section of the Grimming route during rain, thunderstorms, or snowmelt and definitely to wear a helmet.
Author’s recommendation
After completing the route, hungry cyclists can enjoy delicious Kasnocken at the inn "Im Dörfl".

Safety information
At the reservoir, be cautious in bad weather due to risk of rockfall!Roadbook
From the Irdning campsite "Im Dörfl anno 1873," you ride on a beautiful cycle path towards Untergrimming. Here, the first steep climb of about 17% begins immediately at the edge of town. Shortly after, you must overcome three more steep sections of about 17%, 15%, and 12%. After about eight kilometers measured from Dörfl, you have already conquered the climbs and can fully enjoy the surroundings. Now you continue following the "Grimming route" sign. Past Kulm, the largest ski flying hill in the world. Always through magnificent landscape until you reach the Salza reservoir. Along it (beware of barriers due to the driving ban) to its dam. Here again a short steep climb uphill and then further downhill along the road into the Ennstal. Here at the federal road, take the cycle path back to the campsite.
