Roadbook
The route begins in the town center of Malchow, the romantic island town with half-timbered houses and small alleys. An earth dam leads over the Malchower See. To the right, there is a wonderful view across to the former Malchow monastery complex, today a place of culture with an art and organ museum.
After a few meters, the path turns left and follows the cycle path (Göhren–Lebbin) towards Untergöhren. With its own beach on the Fleesensee, this district of the municipality Göhren-Lebbin has made a name for itself especially as "Land Fleesensee."
Following the Kölpinsee–Fleesensee cycle path, you reach Göhren-Lebbin, whose center is formed by the manor house "Schloss Blücher." Via Schloss and Wendhofer streets, the way goes towards Wendhof.
You ride between meadows and fields, through the Poppentiner end moraine, a hilly area whose highest point is Kalkberg (103m above sea level). The detour to Kirch Poppentin with the church, whose foundations date from the 13th century, the parsonage, and the old school is worthwhile.
Back in Wendhof, turn right towards Klink. Here, too, the small detour to Kölpinsee with its unique view over the completely natural shore is worthwhile.
In Klink, the route follows the shore of the Müritz until, after crossing the Elde bridge, the Berlin–Copenhagen cycle path goes left towards Jabel. Before Jabel, you can visit Damerower Werder, where there is a wisent enclosure in which this endangered species lives in the wild.
At Jabel, near the church, the over 250-year-old yew tree with a trunk circumference of 4.35 meters is worth seeing. Through the extensive forest area of the Nossentiner-Schwinzer Heide Nature Park, the route goes via Silz and Nossentin back to Malchow.
