The Salem community center is the start and end point of the approximately 41 km long circular route. Cyclists can learn about modern agriculture.
About bisons, happy cows and delicious cakes: new farm route on the trail of agriculture.
Charmingly rural – this is how the beautiful and agriculturally shaped Duchy of Lauenburg presents itself at the gates of Hamburg. Cyclists can now experience rural life up close on the new farm route and learn a lot of interesting facts about agriculture, forestry and hunting. Farm shops, farm cafés and country inns are rewarding places to stop along the way.
Author’s recommendation
Worth seeing are the bisons in Fredeburg and the nearby estate with its outstanding farm shop and cheese from own production. In Schmilau, strawberry and blueberry plantations lie at the roadside. From Sterley, a detour to Hollenbek to the nature park barn with its exhibits from earlier times of agriculture is also worthwhile. In Seedorf, there are not only fresh raspberries. "Outdoor pigs" also live happily in their enclosure under the open sky. Kaiser's farm shop and café invite you to take a break in Salem, and the Salem Moor is a very special natural treasure.
