The nearly 30 km long circular route leads from Kühler Krug in Karlsruhe along the Alb to Rüppurr and from there through the Hardtwald to the Epplesee. From the Epplesee, it continues via Rheinstetten-Forchheim to the Fermasee near Neuburgweiher and from Neuburgweiher on the Rhine Cycle Route to the Rheinstrandbad. On the cycle path beside Hermann-Schneider-Allee and Daxlander Straße, you reach the Alb in Daxlanden from the Rheinstrandbad, where following the Alb again takes you back to the starting point of the route.

The Epplesee, the Fermasee, and the Rheinstrandbad are three very popular places for water sports enthusiasts in the south of Karlsruhe.
The Epplesee is a regionally well-known gravel lake in the Forchheim district of Silberstreifen. Due to its good wind conditions, the lake, which has a sandy beach strip with a designated nudist area on the west shore, is popular not only with bathers but also with sailors, surfers, and kite surfers. At the Epplesee, where gravel is still mined today using modern suction dredgers, lawns provide ample space for relaxing and sunbathing.
The Fermasee near Neuburgweiher is originally an old arm of the Rhine, which was used for a long time as a gravel lake. It developed when gravel was needed for the Westwall. On the east side, accessible by car from Neuburgweier, there is a small parking lot and a bathing bay, which is monitored on Sundays and public holidays by the local DLRG South Hardt group.
The Rheinstrandbad Rappenwört, located on the Rhine floodplain island Rappenwört, is a popular excursion destination for the residents of Karlsruhe. The beach pool is one of the most scenic and largest pools in Germany. In addition to a wave pool and a diving pool, a leisure pool with many water attractions offers fun and relaxation for every visitor. The extensive outdoor pool and sports facility, which was planned as a public pool as early as 1924, is symmetrically arranged around the bathing pool with sandy beach.

The marked cycle path crosses the Weiherfeld bridge into the Weiherfeld district and along the Alb towards Ettlingen.
At the height of Rüppurr, leave the cycle path towards Ettlingen and turn right into Brunnenstückweg, then follow the cycle path signs towards Durmersheim/Rheinstetten. The cycle path leads you through the Hardtwald to the L 605. After crossing this four-lane road, turn left and at the next junction turn right. The path leads over the Malscher Landgraben to K 3581. Here turn right onto the cycle path along the district road.
After passing through the Forchheim district of Silberstreifen, you reach the Epplesee. After the Epplesee, continue along K 3581 to Rheinstetten-Forchheim, passing through it on the main road and the street "Dammfeld" towards Neuburgweiher. After leaving the town, continue following the cycle path signs to Neuburgweiher/Fermasee.
From the Fermasee, take the access road to the lake to Neuburgweiher. At the entrance to Neuburgweiher, turn right onto Marienstraße to Rheinstraße, then turn right towards the ferry.
