Start/Finish: Train station in Ramsen
The Eiswoog is a reservoir of the Eisbach in the northern Palatinate Forest, near the municipality of Ramsen. It is a popular local recreation area due to the designated hiking trails around the lake, the Stumpfwald railway, which runs on a approx. 4 km long narrow-gauge track at certain times between the Eiswoog and Ramsen, and the Eistal viaduct, the longest railway bridge in the Palatinate at 250 meters.
The 30 km route leads from the train station in Ramsen on the Barbarossa cycle route via the Eiswoog to Alsenborn and from there via Neuhemsbach into the Upper Pfrimm valley to the Sippelsfelder ponds. Via the Ripperter farm and through the Ellenbach valley, it returns from the Upper Pfrimm valley back to the starting point in Ramsen.

Directions:
The starting point of the route is at the train station in Ramsen. Coming from the train station, first follow Bahnhofstraße towards the town center and at the junction "Am Klosteracker" join the Barbarossa cycle route, which you follow to Alsenborn. The very well signposted cycle route initially runs on forest paths parallel to the Stumpfwald railway to the Eiswoog. From the Eiswoog it goes slightly uphill through the Hollerbachtal. At the end of the valley, there is a short, steeper climb on an unpaved forest path. Then it goes 2 km downhill to Alsenborn, which you reach via Burgstraße.
In the center of Alsenborn, leave the Barbarossa cycle route and turn right at the end of Burgstraße into Grünstädter Straße (road to Ramsen). After 200 m, at a right curve of Grünstädter Straße, continue straight ahead on Alsenzstraße. You are now on the Alsenz cycle route, which you follow to the junction to Neuhemsbach.
From the junction to Neuhemsbach, you cycle on the roadside cycle path via Heinzental to Neuhemsbach and from there on the L 394 towards Sippersfeld.
Just before Sippersfeld, turn right to Retzberg pond. Pass the Retzberg hut and the Retzberg pond and continue into the Upper Pfrimm valley. There keep right and cycle to the end of the valley, where you meet trail 4 (green-blue bar) at a fork in the road. Follow this trail straight ahead on a gravel, slightly uphill forest path to the second crossroad. Then go half-left, always downhill along the Ellerbach until shortly before the Ripperter farm, where you meet an asphalt road into which you turn right. This leads back to Ramsen. Via the main street and Bahnhofstraße, you return to the starting point of the route.
