Dro round bike tour

From the centre of Dro you cross the Sarca river and then turn right, biking along its W banks, mostly by an ordinary road. Before the valley step, you reach a power plant, cross the river to its building and then continue northwards by a nice biking track. Soon you do a considerable ascent, biking through a nice landscape of light woods, rocks and meadows. From the track you can reach Lago di Cavedine, but those are hiking trails. After passing the lake (you don't see it). you continue slightly down and then across the plane to the village of Pietramurata. From there on you bike just along the E shore of Sarca river till the village of Sarche. There turn sharp right to the nearbly Lago Toblino. Along its W and N shore you can bike by the road or by the path just along the shore. From Lago di Toblino you can bike also along the W shore of Lago di Santa Massenza - till the power plant where there is the turning point of your tour.

Ride close to the lake, then below the main road and up to Padergnone. There turn left and follow the road through the village and up to the main road, connecting Trento and Lago di Garda. Turn right and follow the main road southwards. This is not the most pleasant part of the route, but if you choose time when the road is not too busy, you can enjoy a long, steady ascent. So, you ride up to Calavino, Lasino, Cavedine and finally to Passo San Udalrico, 585 m.

From that road pass it goes only down. Yo do best if you follow the main road, where the descent is the fastest. Reaching half way down Drena, you can visit the powerful Drena castle, then in a few long turns you are quickly down in the Sarca valley. You only need to continue towards the SW to Dro.
