The Dolmen Cycle Route connects the Himmelsscheibe Cycle Route in Querfurt
with the Saale Cycle Route in Leißling (Weißenfels)
The Dolmen Cycle Route begins in Querfurt on the Himmelsscheibe Cycle Route, passing through Querfurt Castle to the first destination: the Eichstädt Watchtower with the stone grave and the image of the dolmen goddess.
After that, it continues to Geiseltalsee, which is circled about one-third - counterclockwise - and left again at Neumark/Braunsbedra. If you have enough time, a weekend visit to the vineyard on the northern shore of Geiseltalsee (seasonal wine tavern) is worthwhile.
In Lunstädt, one of the most beautiful bathing lakes with a campsite - the Hassesee - invites you to swim.
Then the route goes over a small hill, past the "airship", through Markröhlitz (ice cream café) to the Goseck Solar Observatory. The information office is located in Goseck Castle, which the bike route passes by. From the castle, there is a wonderful view of the Saale valley.
From there, the paved Mühlenweg (warning: 20% gradient) leads to the northern shore of the Saale. Via Lobitzsch we reach the Saale ferry bridge Leißling, where the Dolmen Cycle Route ends.
The Saale Cycle Route can also be easily reached via the left bank variant of the Saale Cycle Route via Lobitzsch and Uichteritz in Weißenfels.
If you want to reach the Saale Cycle Route or Unstrut Cycle Route at Naumburg, you can also cycle on the left bank of the Saale to Naumburg Henne via Eulau.
Both variants are well signposted.

Roadbook
The bike route is continuously well-developed, except for:
- the transition from the ICE bridge to the Geiseltal round route is still "rough"! Here about 50 m must be pushed if you do not have a MT bike.
- at Pettstädt you must use the B 176 for about 50 m. CAUTION!!
Other not so "good" paths are still:
- roughly 1 km cobblestone paving at the exit of Nehmsdorf,
- about 100 m dusty gravel before Pettstedt,
- "tolerable" dirt road below Goseck Castle to Lobitzsch.
