Tourist-Information Nonnenhorn
A scenic cycling route through the enchanting hinterland from Nonnenhorn to Laimnau
and back along the Argen with numerous places to stop for refreshments.
You can expect a varied route through the Lake Constance hinterland, partly on country roads and partly on cycle paths.
There are some small climbs to manage.
Along the way, there are numerous sights such as the Antonius Chapel, the plague cemetery, Gießen Castle, cable suspension bridge, etc.
A detour to the church in Unterreitnau is also possible (from the 14th/15th century).
If you wish, you can refresh yourself at the Degersee bathing beach – depending on the temperatures. (Swimming is prohibited in Schleinsee).
There is also no shortage of places to stop for refreshments – from Degersee (Degerseestube), a detour to the Schleinsee farmstead is possible.
On the way back from Laimnau, the route largely follows the shady bank of the Argen; you can use the cycle path on both sides of the river.
Author’s recommendation
Discover the remarkable cable suspension bridge over the Argen, built in 1897, which is considered one of the oldest suspension bridges in Germany.
