Central wine route

Tour details courtesy of South Tyrolean Wine Road. Start your bike ride at the village entrance at Kaltern winery and Erste und Neue Kellerei. From here, go downhill to Feld-Altenloch and in direction Kalterer See/Klughammer. After a while, turn left near Altenberg and continue uphill to Montiggler Strasse. This leads you to the small village of Montiggl and on to Großer Montiggler See. On to the approach road to Kleiner Montiggler See, past the lake and then left, uphill to the highest point of the tour. Continue downhill into Schreckbichltal to the village of Schreckbichl and then on to Girlan. You can sample some fine wines at Girlan winery, Josef Niedermayr vineyard or Fischerhof distillery. Continue on Lammweg and Weishausweg to St Michael/Eppan. Here, the J Brigl und St Michael wineries are well worth a visit. A further attraction is the Stroblhof vineyard and restaurant.
