Loop route developed in the heart of Canavese, featuring the beautiful Lake Candia and the vineyards of Caluso's Erbaluce grape.
Loop route connecting the municipalities of Caluso, Vische, Mercenasco, Montalenghe, and Candia Canavese. Mainly flat, it includes all the few slopes between the municipality of Mercenasco and Lake Candia.
A few kilometers after the start, you travel alongside the beautiful Lake Candia, immersed in the homonymous Natural Park and surrounded by moraine hills, which represents one of the most important wetland areas in Piedmont and is included among the Sites of Community Interest according to the European Union's "Habitat" Directive.
A few kilometers after Vische, you encounter Cascina Luisina, a remarkable example of an ancient rural building with a "closed courtyard" layout, formed by a quadrilateral about 70 meters per side, with a well still in the center and a votive chapel in the shape of a three-nave cathedral, where the wooden statue of the Immaculate Madonna is located in the central nave.
The municipality of Caluso is worth a visit in its historic center. Here, due to the unique composition of the soil and the favorable geographic position, the famous Erbaluce grape is grown, from which the precious D.O.C. wines known in the Italian and international wine market are obtained. Viticulture has been practiced in these parts since ancient times and has always been the most prestigious resource of the local agricultural economy. The Regional Wine Shop of the Province of Turin is located in Caluso.

For those who wish, it is possible to do the full loop around Lake Candia and the related Natural Park. The surface is 60% unpaved and shaded by woods, an easy route that can become challenging when the ground is wet from rain. https://www.piste-ciclabili.com/itinerari/3057-giro-del-lago-di-candia
