Restaurant Felix - NordhausenRoadbook
The almost 130 km long route starts at the station in the grain town of Nordhausen. From there, it goes north to Hohenrode Park. Siesmayer Park impresses with its high diversity of special trees and the Kneiff family villa. On the route, you pass the ECHTER Nordhäuser traditional distillery. From Hohenrode Park, the route leads through the Nordhausen old town towards the east. On Alte Leipziger Straße, the route goes via Urbach and Görsbach to Berga. The Kyffhäuser comes closer and closer. It goes over the Kelbra reservoir into the town at the foot of the imperial monument. Through Tilleda, the route leads to Brücken. First through the Goldene, then through the Diamante meadow, to the mountain and rose town of Sangerhausen. The first day could end here after almost 50 km.
A visit to the Europa Rosarium marks the start of the second day of the tour. From Sangerhausen, the route heads south over the Kyffhäuser cycle path and on the Unstrut Werra cycle path (UWR) to Bad Frankenhausen. Here, you can discover the Leaning Tower, the Kyffhäuser thermal baths, and the Panorama Museum. From here it is just under 7 km to the third BUGA 2021 external location in Bendeleben. This location is not directly on the route, so it makes sense to make an excursion there and to use Bad Frankenhausen as the second stage destination.
On the third day, the route continues exclusively on the UWR to Ebeleben. On the way to the Baroque palace park, there is still much to discover. The mountain and music town of Sondershausen with the palace and the leisure and recreation park Possen. You cycle relaxed along the former railway line to Ebeleben. To return to your starting point in Nordhausen, you must cycle back almost 7 km on the UWR to Hohenebra Ort and take the Deutsche Bahn train from there.
