This short and easy tour takes us from Payerne in Vaud through the Broye plain to the unspoilt southern shore of Lake Neuchâtel and along the shore to the "rose town" of Estavayer le Lac in Fribourg. On the way, there are bathing opportunities at the port of Chevroux. The medieval town of Estavayer le Lac is well worth a sight-seeing. On a slight hill near Châtillon we reach the highest point of the tour and ride through a few small villages back to the Broye plain. At Morens, a visit to the 800-year-old "Notre Dame des Marais" is worthwhile before we return to Payerne via the runways of the military airfield through the Broye plain.
Note(s)
When military aircraft take off and land, the road across the runway is closed. The airfield must then be bypassed to the southwest.
