The starting point of this cycling route is Donaueschingen station. Follow the signs 3 and 3V first towards Wolterdingen, then towards Brigachtal. If you start the route in Aufen, turn left after the tracks. Cycle along the Brigach through the riparian vegetation, past reed beds, bushes, and willows to Grüningen.

Once there, you can visit the St. Mauritius Church with medieval wall paintings. Then turn right and follow the sign 3V back towards Aufen. After a climb, you reach Kapellenbuck. Follow the sign on the former Roman road, which was an important traffic junction in Roman times. Enjoy the view into the Brigach valley and the Swabian Alb before cycling straight back towards Aufen to the starting point.
