Bird and Animal Park Tour

From Bruchsal, head to Karlsdorf-Neuthard. In both districts of the municipality, there are bird protection and breeding clubs that maintain enclosures. In Karlsdorf, you will find not only parrots, macaws, and cockatoos but also wild boars, fallow deer, goats, as well as various species of cranes, ducks, and geese. In Neuthard, there is even a tropical house.

In Stutensee, there are four bird lover clubs: in Blankenloch, Friedrichstal, Spöck, and Staffort; besides birds, you can see hoofed and wild animals from all over the world. In the Blankenloch district, there is an adventure playground.

In Weingarten, the Bird Friends Association and the Bird Protection and Breeding Club look forward to your visit. Nature lovers will be familiar with the Weingartener Moor nature reserve.

You can admire parakeets, parrots, and poultry birds at the bird park in Pfinztal-Berghausen. There, both young and old can be active on the Berghausen mini-golf course.

The Zoological Garden in Karlsruhe is one of the oldest in Germany and impresses with the combination of city park and zoo. It is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the city of Karlsruhe. In the Günther-Klotz Park, there is an educational supervised activity playground. Near the touristic area is also the Europabad – the most modern adventure pool in the region. Here, fun swimming and wellness are offered for the whole family.

The Karlsruhe-Rappenwört Nature Conservation Center is also well known. Visitors can learn about nature conservation and the Rhine floodplains through permanent and special exhibitions as well as in the children’s adventure room. The Sonnenbad (Rhine port) is the only outdoor pool in Germany open from March to November.

In Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, the Bird and Animal Park of the Leopoldshafen bird friends awaits you. Besides a large number of native birds and exotic species, you can also observe fallow deer in the adjacent enclosure. The park delights small and large visitors with many birds, peacocks, rheas, and miniature goats.

Next, head to Linkenheim-Hochstetten. In the Park of Nature and Bird Friends Linkenheim, numerous bird species live in 33 aviaries, 5 large aviaries, stilts meadows, and a duck pond.

From here, a detour to the neighboring municipality of Dettenheim is worthwhile. In the district of Liedolsheim, there is another beautiful bird park with native and exotic animals.

With the forest recreation park in Hambrücken, you will find a beautiful animal park, a mini-golf course, and a children's playground.

Via Philippsburg, continue to Oberhausen-Rheinhausen. There is a bird park in both districts. Between Oberhausen-Rheinhausen and Waghäusel lies the Wagbachniederung nature reserve, which is worth seeing for bird lovers. The area is located in a bend of the Rhine, and the wildlife of the Wagbachniederung is of special value. Already, 275 wild bird species have been documented in the area. For migratory birds, the nature reserve is an ideal resting place.

There are also bird parks in Waghäusel-Kirrlach and Waghäusel-Wiesental. Via Kronau, Bad Schönborn, and Ubstadt-Weiher, you reach the Forst bird park and the Bird Friends Association Forst, where flamingos, cranes, monkeys, llamas, and other exotic animals can be admired. In Forst, there is a forest playground and a mini-golf course.

From Forst, head back to the city of Bruchsal.
