Author’s recommendation
Plan a longer stay at the Pflugsmühle. Not only does a Franconian beer garden beckon, but also a mini-golf course, among other things.

Tips and suggestions
Cyclists who want to arrive by train have the option of taking an alternative route: From Georgensgmünd station, it goes to Moosbach, where we directly meet our pleasure route. Instead of 30 kilometers, the route is then 33.5 kilometers long.
Along the way, not only numerous beer gardens and inns invite you to linger. Cyclists can also "incidentally" dive into the regional history: The historic Abenberg Castle houses, in addition to a hotel with restaurant, also two museums: The House of Franconian History and the Lace Museum. There you can take an exciting journey through regional history – and even earn your Franconian diploma. Additionally, trained staff offer themed tours at the castle and through the museums. Among others, costume tours with the castle guard or tours for children. All information at www.museen-abenberg.de.
And Georgensgmünd is known for its Jewish life: For almost four centuries, Jewish families were an integral part of the population. The Old Synagogue and the Jewish cemetery still exist and can be visited by appointment. All information at the community of Georgensgmünd, 09172 70373, www.georgensgmuend.de.
Roadbook
From the starting point, it first goes downhill until shortly after the start we meet the Franconian WaterCycle Route. We follow the route eastward until just before Asbach. Here we turn towards Mäbenberg. Passing a beautiful playground, it goes steeply uphill to Mäbenberg with a place to stop at the Kuhstallcafé (Sundays and holidays). We go through the village and next reach Untersteinbach with the guesthouse "Zum Grünen Tal." After two kilometers of riding, partly through magnificent pine forest, we then reach the typical hop village Mosbach. As in the neighboring Güsseldorf (our next stop), a traditional Franconian guesthouse invites you to rest here.
From Güsseldorf, hop and cherry gardens accompany the way. Downhill, the circular route changes after a forest section to the connecting road from Obersteinbach to Mosbach. In Obersteinbach, we turn left and then reach Beerbach. In Beerbach, we turn left again and finally reach the Pflugsmühle. Hungry and thirsty cyclists are awaited there by a wonderful beer garden; for children, among other things, pony riding and a mini-golf course. The return route to Abenberg leads again through Beerbach. In Dürrenmungenau, a look at the romantic castle (privately owned) is worth it. Coming from the west, we finally reach Abenberg, whose impressive castle greets the Franconian landscape from afar.
