Around Tomášikovo

The trip starts at the recently renovated Tomášikovo Water Mill. We set off along the yellow cycling route toward the village. At the beginning, we pass the natural monument Tomášikovský presyp, protected for its dry-loving plant and animal species.

In the village, we join the green cycling route, which leads through beautiful scenery along the Stará Čierna Vodawatercourse. From the point where Stará Čierna Voda branches off from the Čierna Voda, we continue on the blue cycling route (In the Footsteps of Water Mills). The blue route takes us back to the Tomášikovo Water Mill, where our trip began.

The Tomášikovo water wheel mill was completely renovated thanks to a successful project of the Trnava Self-Governing Region. The project Milling – the Forgotten Craft of Our Ancestors was implemented within the Interreg V-A Slovakia–Hungary Cross-Border Cooperation Programme and funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The total project budget exceeded €1.6 million, with more than €760,000 allocated to the Trnava Self-Governing Region, which was also the lead partner of the project.
