Around the Eulenkopf

The starting point of the circular route is the parking lot in the Upper Pfeifertal at the Ziegelhütte. First, follow the bike path signs to Erzhausen and after about 800 m you will reach the district road K 20. Ride steeply uphill on it to Eulenbis. In Eulenbis, ride through Pfeifertal and Hauptstraße and turn left into Eulenkopfstraße at the end of Hauptstraße. At the town’s edge, turn right towards Kollweiler. Those who want to enjoy the view from the lookout tower on the Eulenkopf can continue straight for about 450 m to the tower. The initially paved farm road to Kollweiler runs straight across the plateau until just before the wind turbines you reach a paved road turning left. It leads downhill to Kollweiler, which you pass through following the bike path signs on Friedhof and Hofstraße. In the town center, turn left onto Hauptstraße and, after 200 m at the Red Square, turn right towards Jettenbach. One kilometer after leaving Kollweiler, a road branches left, with a paved path leading right to Albersbach. If you stay on the paved path, you will reach Albersbach after about 2 km. Via Albersbacher Straße you get to Reichenbach-Steegen, where you meet the Palatinate Country bike path on Hauptstraße. The very well-signposted bike path leads you on the former Bachbahn railway track over Schwedelbach to Weilerbach. In Weilerbach, turn left onto Hauptstraße at the end of Bahnhofstraße and right into the street “In der Nasserde” after 50 m. A field path takes you back to the parking lot in the Upper Pfeifertal.
