The scenic route scores with numerous bathing and refreshment opportunities around the lake and is one of the most popular cycling routes in all of Germany.
On the Chiemsee circuit, you experience beautiful views of the lake and the Alps. Numerous bathing bays, beer gardens, fishermen's huts, and cafés along the route invite you to take a break. The approximately 50-kilometer-long route, signposted in both directions, runs on simple field and bike paths and can be ridden with common touring bikes. Only a few short climbs need to be overcome.
The Chiemsee circular route marked on our map leads as a combined cyclist and pedestrian path close to the shore and with great views around the Chiemsee. Special consideration must be given to pedestrians here! We have indicated the route counterclockwise, but it can be ridden in either direction at any time.
Since the route is heavily used especially in the summer season, it is recommended to avoid weekends and start early in the morning.

If you wish, you can also cover sections with the Chiemseering Line (RVO 9586). From about mid-May to early October, the Chiemseering Line circles the Chiemsee daily and connects all towns around the "Bavarian Sea." Guests with a valid Bernau guest card travel free by bus. Taking a bicycle in the trailer costs €2.50 per bike.
