The leaflet "Experience Landscape and Nature with Us" published by the South Palatinate Nature Conservation Association local group Billigheim-Ingenheim invites hikers and cyclists to five different routes through the areas of Appenhofen, Billigheim, Ingenheim, and Mühlhofen. On the routes, marked in different colors with length information and detailed descriptions, you can use the map to experience the beauty and character of the landscape and the associated nature "with all senses." The routes pass 21 information boards where you can learn interesting facts about the connections between nature and landscape. Beautiful viewpoints are also marked on the map.

Roadbook
The starting point of the circular route is in the center of Billigheim (town hall). First, you pass through the gate and along Marktstraße and Firststraße to Appenhofen, and in Appenhofen via Kaiserbachstraße to the Kaiserbach. Here you have the option to make a detour to the little church (NVS information board) via the meadow path.
Continue on the street "Im Kühlmäßel" to the B 38. Before the B 38, turn left and ride along the concrete path past the shooting range up to the road to Mörzheim near a shelter (NVS information board). On the road, turn right. Passing the lookout tower, continue to the next concrete path, which turns left. Follow this to the western end. Then continue south to the next concrete path intersection. There, turn and cycle left to a "bicycle path sign" (the last 80 m are unpaved). Follow the bicycle path signs to the Bischoff Mill in Appenhofen.
(If you follow the red NVS circular route marking, the path continues straight to the stream valley. Before the stream, turn left and follow the difficult-to-ride Kaiserbach nature trail (NVS information board). At the footbridge, cross the Kaiserbach near the Bischoff Mill (NVS information board) and continue to the entrance of Appenhofen.)
Via Mühlstraße, you reach the road to Heuchelheim. After crossing the road, cycle along the bike path west to the first turnoff. Here, turn left and descend into the valley, where you cycle right to the mill and coat of arms smithy. Behind the shed before the mill, turn left onto an unpaved path along the stream and continue on a concrete path through the meadows to Klingener Straße. Turn right onto this. Almost at the edge of town (access to recreational facilities/campsite) at the bus stop, turn left following the NVS circular route markings. The very well-signposted bike and hiking trail leads you on a concrete path past the Jewish cemetery and then turns right toward a small woodland. Follow it left and then immediately right again toward another woodland. Continue on the concrete path to the B 38. Cross it and cycle about 600 m on the concrete path. Then turn left and after 300 m right (marked as an NVS hiking trail). The signs lead you on a concrete path into the meadow valley.
Before the open meadow area, still in the hollow way (NVS information board) at the junction, turn left onto an unpaved path toward Mühlhofen Forest and straight through the entire upper forest to the state road (NVS information board). After crossing the state road, cycle through the entire lower forest (partly on the bird protection nature trail) out of the forest. Follow the forest edge and after about 300 m turn right to cross the railway line. After about 100 m, turn left onto the concrete path (NVS information board), which crosses the railway line again at the end. Now continue straight on to just before Mühlhofen. (Right path leads to a detour to the NVS information board and dry stone wall.)
Here, turn right (blue NVS circular route marking) and cycle to Wahlhof. Before this farm, turn left and immediately behind it, right onto a grass path to the fishing pond. Circumvent the pond on the right bank to the bridge over the Klingbach. Past the sewage treatment plant, follow the blue marking into the Billigheim industrial area. At the Union hardware store, turn right onto the district road. On the district road, cycle left on the bike path to the entrance of Billigheim.
Here, turn left onto a concrete path toward Pfalzgrafenmühle. On the right side of the mill, the path (NVS information board) continues until at the northern end of the vineyards a concrete path branches off to the right. Follow this to the state road. Cycle 50 m on the state road and then turn right onto an unpaved path. At the end of the path, turn left onto a concrete path toward Billigheim. At the end of the path (NVS information board), you reach the state road again. Slightly left opposite the road, switch to the bike path and cycle back to Billigheim (NVS information board). At the end of the bike path, cross the district road and reach the starting point of the route again via Pfützgasse and Bergstraße.
