First, we ride very hilly from Immenstadt via Niedersonthofen, Hellengerst, and Eschach to the Blender. Behind Wiggensbach we follow the Rohrachtal to Binzen. From there we cross over to the Iller. Downstream, we ride to the bridge at Au. We cross the river, climb the high shore, and reach hilly terrain past the Sachsenrieder Weiher and Reicholzried to Dietmannsried. Behind the motorway in Überbach, we turn towards Haldenwang. Along the main road, it is not far to Börwang. We keep heading towards Wilpoldsried. At the ruins of Wagegg Castle, we descend to Leubas. Through the moor, we reach Betzigau. It gets rural again. Via Betzenried, we reach the edge of the Kempter Forest to the Tobias guesthouse. From there, we cross to Bodelsberg. Along the Rottachsee, we ride to Petersthal. Over Vorderburg and Emmereis, the last notable climbs follow up to Rettenberg. After a long descent into the Iller valley, we cross back to Immenstadt.

    Author’s recommendation

A rest with views of the Alps is worthwhile in many places. A swim in the Sachsenrieder Weiher provides cooling in the summer.

    Roadbook

From the center of Immenstadt, we ride up to Kalvarienberg. The road takes us to the old people's home. There we turn left to Stein. We follow the signs to Unter- and Obereinharz. We leave Obereinharz to the left. Through the Hölltobel, we ride northwards up to the district road and straight on to Adelharz. Keeping right, we reach Eckarst in a few minutes. We descend to Niedersonthofen. Only on the other side of the valley do we leave the district road. At the first houses of the village, we start the steep climb to Linsen on the right. We keep right again. To change into the Weitnauer valley, we must first climb the hill north of Stoffelberg, which can be very exhausting depending on fitness. In Hellengerst, we pass under the federal highway. Immediately afterward, we turn east onto the Allgäu cycle route. We reach the watershed between the Rhine and Danube. On the old railway track between Kempten and Isny, we roll downhill through an extensive forest area to Schwarzerd. At the state road, we ride briefly west until we start the climb to Steckenried. Through the hilly landscape, we soon reach Eschach. We cross the village and ride with a view of the Blender to Wegscheidel. There begins the climb to the Blender. After that, we roll down to Wiggensbach. We leave the town towards the northwest. Behind Strohmayers, we take the second turn left. We gain height again. Over Bracken and Horns, we reach the Heckelsmühle. We cross the district road and follow the Rohrachtal to Binzen. We stay a bit longer along the little river until we turn right from Staubers up to Diesenbach. Via Floschen and Betzers, we cross to the Iller. Now on the Iller cycle path, we cycle northwards to Aumühle and further to the Iller bridge at Au. There we switch to the east side of the river. Now awaits a steep and very long climb to the high shore. We follow the signs to the Sachsenrieder Weiher. At Manneberg, there is again a magnificent view of the Alps. From the pond, it is not far to Reicholzried. From there, we ride into Dietmannsried. We keep left. In a curve, we cross the village center. Behind the Feneberg, we meet the railway line, continue to the motorway bridge, and are immediately in Überbach. At the church, we keep southeast towards Haldenwang. From there, we cycle along the main road to Börwang. We turn right and reach a roundabout. There we keep towards Wildpoldsried. At the ruins of Wagegg Castle, we descend to Leubas. Along the river, we reach the moor and further to Betzigau. We cross the bypass road and the Kempten - Kaufbeuren railway line. Along the Betzigau belly, we come to the church. Behind it, we turn to Betzenried. It becomes significantly more rural again. Past the ruins of Schönberg, we descend to the Tobias guesthouse. Through the Kempter Forest, we climb to Bodelsberg. Here we ride downhill. We cross the railway line and ride a short stretch left on the federal road to Stellenmoos. There we change under the motorway to the Rottachsee. On the east side of the lake, we reach Petersthal. On the road, we roll down to the Greifenmühle and turn left. Over Großdorf, Vorderburg, Emmereis, Engelbolz, and Sterklis, we climb to Rettenberg. Along the state road, we enjoy a long descent to the roundabout at the Goimoosmühle. Westwards, we ride straight to the federal road. We cross over to Rauhenzell. Straight on, we reach the building yard and shortly afterward the Iller bridge. Behind the roundabout, we cycle under the railway. Along Liststraße, we head to the town center, our starting point.
