7-lake route

From Haus Schattwald (parking only for guests staying overnight!) to the Kappl district, first ascending on a gravel forest path then partly steeply descending into the Vilstal valley, with the Kälberhofalpe, then on asphalt along the mountain brook to Pfronten-Ried. On a marked cycle path, it goes north past Falkenstein to Weißensee(1), along its north shore, then up to Alatsee(2), down past Obersee(3) with an outdoor swimming facility to Füssen. We pass through the romantic old town and circle the Forgensee(4), on the east side passing Hegratsrieder See(5) and heading towards Schwangau with views of the royal castles. We ride up to Alpsee(6) and continue on good gravel to Schwangauer Gitter at the state border, then down some hairpin bends into the Lechtal valley to Pinswang. In Reute we cross the river and follow the Lechtal cycle path to Weißenbach. On the gravel old Gaichtpass road, we reach the Tannheimer Tal again with Haldensee(7).
