Round trip from Glonn to Holzkirchen. The journey is the destination.

From the parking lot, it passes the Wiesmühle, along the Kupferbach into the Reiserthal. It is still too early for a stop, but one should remember the rustic beer garden of Reisenthaler Hof. We cycle a short distance to the right following the bike path through Münster and Neumünster to Heimatshofen where we turn right and reach Kaltenbrunn through a forest area. Over the height with Alpine panorama, we come to Großhelfendorf. We cross the busy federal highway and pass the Post inn going straight down moderately to the district road near Grub. We cross the district road and steeply go down to the Grubmühle on the Mangfall, which here changes its direction to Bad Aibling. Through a forest area with two short pushing sections on extreme slopes on gravel (cannot be avoided) we come to Hohendilching. From here we cycle leisurely again over side roads on asphalt through Föching to Holzkirchen. The economically strongest municipality in the Miesbach district obviously suffers from through traffic and besides the old town hall, the market fountain, a gift from Tegernsee, and the Oberbräu does not offer much for tourists. On the way back, we keep towards the train station and via Erlkam come partly on gravel partly on asphalt to Kreuzstraße. At Bartewirt turn left and at the next opportunity turn right over a forest path and side path to Großhelfendorf. We cross our outbound route and keep towards Kleinhelfendorf. On the lightly traveled country road (no bike path!) we reach the popular Unterlaus bathing lake. We go left a short distance to turn right to reach Piusheim, which is worth a visit. We follow the signs to Weiterskirchen and over Berganger reach the Hermannsdorfer workshops. Past the bee garden and Cafe West, a detour to the Zinneberg monastery is worthwhile before it goes quickly down to Glonn.

    Author’s recommendation

Beer garden Wiesmühle Glonn and Reisenthaler Hof

Hermannsdorfer workshops. Natural livestock farming, organic food, bee garden and art.

Piusheim with historical background and today a worthwhile youth village, therefore do not follow the bike path signs before Piusheim but rather ride into the village.

    Cafe West.

Klosterladen Zinneberg with excellent bread products, delicious cakes and fruit and vegetables as they should taste. Additionally, the monastery cafe with good breakfast and small lunch dishes.

On the way back, we have to ride some sections on a country road. Not many vehicles pass, but they drive quite fast. Therefore, bright clothing is recommended.
