Selected alternatives for you
The "Antenna," as the run is also called by locals, is a very good alternative when many standard routes are already tracked out and you don't mind a bit of hiking. This sporty variant should only be done if conditions allow, as the lower section is relatively steep terrain with unfavorable catchment areas.

First-class variant with a 30-minute ascent on the Trittkopf. However, the north-facing descent compensates for the effort and leads over varied terrain through the Pazieltal. The proposed variant (GPS track) passes through a fairly steep gully in the middle section. In difficult conditions, the standard variant is recommended, which after the first section heads towards Oberalp and rejoins the track in significantly flatter terrain. (See Trittkopf Antenna Standard).

    Author’s recommendation

A good closing run for the day, as the Antenna is noticeably slower to be tracked out than other variants and is relatively independent of the sun's position.

    Safety information

Be aware of strong cornicing. In strong west winds and unstable snow layers, this variant should be approached with caution.

    Roadbook

From the Trittkopf top station, climb directly after the exit to the left by the concrete pillar behind the building and then continue straight in the direction of the clearly visible antenna. The ascent takes about 30 minutes. Skins are usually not needed for the ascent, as the path is mostly well tracked and the ridge does not particularly favor walking with skins.

On the summit ridge, first ski about 100m north to the spot where you can easily slide the cornice into the Pazieltal. The first slope is very wide and quickly becomes flatter until you reach a broad flat area. Here you can choose between the offensive variant (towards the north) or a defensive variant (towards the east). Both variants meet again shortly on the boot pack leading back to the ski area.
