A beautiful freeride tour with a short and easy climb from the top of Trais Fluors chairlift at 2750 (no ski pass required) to the Fuorcla Valletta (2870 mt).
If you don’t have a ski
pass, I recommend to park in Celerina and buy a cheap one-way ticket for the Tschainas chairlift, and then ski touring along the groomed track until Marguns and the Trais Fluors valley station.
From the Fuorcla Valletta enjoy the easy descent, keeping the orographic left. After a flat part (at approx 2550 mt), traverse left as soon as possible until you find the most beautiful part of the descent.
When entering the forest, switch sides and move to the orographic right (mandatory!) at approx 2200 mt. DON'T FOLLOW THE SUMMER HIKING PATH. Keep skiing to the right until you reach a beautiful open slope free of trees, for the last and steepest part of the tour (30°–35° steep) which leads you down to the Val Baver road.
Finally, I would recommend walking about 100 meters uphill along the road to enjoy a drink in the Hotel Spinas restaurant while waiting for the first train that brings you back to Celerina train station. Check timetables, because there are only a few trains that stop at this station. The alternative is skiing along the cross-country track down to Bever village, and then take a bus to Celerina.
Author’s recommendation
At the end of Valletta da Bever, in order to avoid a dangerous canyon, keep the orographic right and lean right towards an obvious slope which is free from trees
