St. Anton - Waldschneise
Selected alternatives for you
The Waldschneise is a very safe and easy alternative to the steeper runs Maienplatt and Maienwasen. The cornice at the start of the run can be somewhat tricky with a lot of snow, but it is very obvious and can be easily bypassed.

The Waldschneise may not be the most spectacular run at Galzig. But it is highly recommended as a warm-up run or for weaker groups. With lots of snow and tense conditions, the Waldschneise also offers varied terrain around the tree line. Many groups also use this run as a direct connection from St. Christoph to St. Anton. For example, if coming from Stuben via Knödel, Peischl or Wirt to St. Christoph, you can continue directly to St. Anton via the Waldschneise, needing only the short Maienseelift.
Author’s recommendation
Very good connecting variant on the way back from Stuben via Knödel, Peischl, or Wirt.

The cornice (hard to spot) at the start of the run can be a bit unpleasant with lots of snow. Firstly, you can easily ski over it and fall off the backside, or you might traverse it in poor visibility at an unsuitable spot. Caution at this spot!Tips and suggestions

The ski slope from Galzig to St. Christoph is left at the slightly longer flat section heading south and skillfully navigated between two trees and the large cornice through moderate terrain onto a flat ground (small lake). With a few pole pushes, you overcome the approx. 30m long flat section and now enter the main slopes of the Waldschneise. Between trees, always along a clearing, the run leads south until the clearing then sharply turns left and you also reach a path. You follow this, past the ventilation tower, until you meet the ski slope again and emerge slightly above the Moserwirt.
