St. Anton - Valluga West variant
The Valluga is certainly one of the great freeride classics in Tyrol, not least because you can only reach it with a mountain guide using the Vallugabahn II. With stable conditions, there is very often a boot track from the Valluga I mountain station up to the southern saddle. In about 30 minutes, you reach the starting point for one of the most spectacular runs in the Arlberg.
The Pazieltal is very extensive and, due to its northerly orientation, offers a few good turns even days after the last snowfall, if you use the terrain skillfully.

From the summit of the Valluga, there are several descent options. The north side is spectacular but dangerous in cases of wind-drifted snow and old snow problems. The "Bridge Couloir" is the safest variant. The variant described here via the ridge is very demanding and should only be done by very good skiers.Tips and suggestions

From the summit of the Valluga, descend southwest along the cable-secured path to the bridge. Here, you should strap your skis to your backpack to keep your hands free. After the bridge, follow the ridge for about 200m. Beware of the south-facing overhang. This section is very demanding and should only be attempted by skilled skiers.
At a suitable spot, you can then enter the bowl on the north side and will be rewarded with a long, consistent slope. Keep right at the bottom of the bowl and traverse upwards. This is the connection to the "Long Slope," another great stage through the Pazieltal. The passage is often rocky and you must take off your skis for a few meters.
After the long slope, you usually keep to the left and work your way through the rugged terrain towards the north to the end of the Pazieltal before you reach the ski piste.
