Via the Rothorn ridge to the Zinalrothorn

Anyone who reads just a few of the neighboring summit names on the map will immediately understand what kind of nobility this means: Matterhorn, Weisshorn, Dom, Dufourspitze – some of the most famous 4000-meter peaks in the Alps lie in the immediate vicinity of the Zinalrothorn. Unlike the clearly better-known neighbors, the Zinalrothorn is a pure rock summit. This fact also explains the great popularity of the Rothorn ridge among rock climbers. Compared to most other high mountain tours on 4000-meter peaks in the Alps, crampons can be stowed in the backpack from the start of the ridge to the summit after mastering the approach via firn ramps and glaciers.
