Hut, lake and summit
From Schlinig to the famous high summit
From Schlinig (1738 m) along the shaded forest road downstream to the Schlinig Alm (rest stop) and on the wide path up to the Sesvenna hut (2256 m, summer operation; 2 hours from Schlinig). From the shelter, then always follow the signposts "Piz Sesvenna" on trail 5 over grassy slopes and scree up to Furkelsee and shortly further to the Furkel or Sesvennascharte (2824 m; 1:30 hours from Sesvenna hut). Now briefly descend on the west side, then left on trail 5 crossing steep block slopes over to the Sesvenna glacier, over it in an ascent initially swinging to the right (watch out for hidden crevasses in snowy conditions!) steep at the beginning and end, less steep in the middle area up to the notch between Piz Foratrida on the left and Piz Sesvenna on the right (approx. 3100 m), and now with partly easy climbing (up to I+) over the east ridge consisting of very large boulders to the summit (3205; 3:30 hours from the hut). – The return route follows the described ascent route.
