First approach from St. Johann via the main road up to the car park not far from the Stallila snack station (1472 m). From there take the newly built "Putzweg" or üvia the forest road (marked 20) up to the Hoferpauler-Oberhütte. Turn left and continue on footpath no. 19, partly up steps, to the Kegelgassl hut (2123 m - snack station). Please note that there is only a small sleeping camp. Briefly follow signpost 19 in the direction of Schwarzensteinhütte, then at the signpost "er Löffler" turn right and follow the marked trail (partly with small stones) über Moränenhänge up to the östliche Rand des Trippbachkees.
