Alpengasthof Alter PocherSafety information
High alpine route with glacier contact. The Kleinfleisskees glacier already has open crevasses particularly from the end of June, which are hard to detect due to snowfall. Early snowfall also covers the paths used during summer.Fog complicates orientation. Wooden sticks and existing measuring stations are not trail markers.
Also, the daily temperature progression must be considered. In case of doubt, seek professional assistance (AV high alpine guides and mountain guides).

Roadbook
Follow the gravel road after the parking lot or after the Alter Pocher. Before descending to a dust structure, turn left onto a marked path past measuring stations (marked on the AV map with O.M. Ombrometer) up to the last spur of the Kleinfleisskees glacier. From here, this is a glacier route requiring experience and knowledge for walking on glaciers and their hidden dangers. Essentially, you should keep far to the left around the glacier uphill to the Pilatusscharte and from there continue below the wall of the Sonnblick, further left onto the summit path.
Caution crevasses! The GPS file here is only a rough direction, as the glacier changes!
Descent is the same as the ascent or crossing to Kolm Saigurn (return by bus)
