Author’s recommendation
Dreamlike sunrises and sunsets with almost 360° panoramic views.
There are now quite good webcams in the region, for example for the area from Rojacher Hut to Zittelhaus.

In early summer, snowfields may still be present in places (risk of breaking through especially at the edges).Wetness causes problems near the waterfall after rain (risk of slipping).
After the Rojacher Hut, the high alpine terrain begins (easy climbing, exposed and airy, foehn wind and rising fog can make orientation and walking difficult there, as well as cooling down - option to turn back with destination.
The glacier variant requires knowledge and experience (a crevasse has been reported so far), otherwise currently more snowfield with possible ice contact (crampons).
Weather conditions can change quite quickly during the day.
Rising thunderstorms, stormy wind, fog and snowfall can make stopping, turning back, or additional overnight stays necessary.
Please notify the huts expecting your return then!
Tips and suggestions
Weather: The snow depth report from the Sonnblick Observatory weather station does not refer to the route over the ridge and also not before the Zittelhaus!
The measuring point is on the glacier below the ridge.

Roadbook
Stage 1: Trail on partly slippery rock slabs, a fixed rope for holding, and later on the path to Neubau. 1 - 1.5h
Stage 2: Continue on the path over a bridge (junction to the glacier educational trail) to the Tiefblick Leidenfrost. From there further on to the Steinmandl and even in July still partly existing snowfields to the Rojacher Hut. 1.5 - 2h
Stage 3: Follow the markings from the hut. Sections with rope protections, stirrups, a short slightly overhanging wall with metal rungs and easy rock climbing I to II. (this part is not a via ferrata). After the Lislstange (barely visible) follow the marked path with rocky boulder terrain to the Zittelhaus.
The total walking time is indicated as 5 hours.
Variant to 3: shortly after the Rojacher Hut there is the possibility to cross the so-called Rojacher gully (steep, unsecured, danger of snow and rockfall) from there directly over snowfield or glacier up to the destination. Appropriate equipment and sure-footedness required!
