Low crevasse danger. Steel cables at Hochwilde - risk of lightning strike!Tips and suggestions

From the hut, initially follow the unmistakable markings to the glacier. On its (flow direction) left side, go onto the glacier and cross to the right. From here, more or less directly ascend to the Annakogel. Then descend somewhat exposed on the other side - about I, II on partly loose rock. We descended at the snowfield that extends up to the ridge, then to the glacier, and bypassed the next rock tower in the snow because it appeared very loose and likely exceeds the previous difficulties.
Now back to the normal route and up to the Hochwilde. The start of the via ferrata is typically to the left. The tower on the far left can also be climbed; the ridge (supposedly up to III) leads to the top, from where one can rappel down into the notch where the via ferrata meets the ridge. From here, two or three bolt anchors are visible, so you could also climb up from that side. Apparently significantly harder than III, about 10 meters high.
We stayed right in this notch and followed the almost continuously installed steel cables. The steps are cut out near the top, the climbing is quite manageable, only at the bottom do you occasionally have to rely on friction. The hardest move is probably the one to the summit cross. Here, no steel cable, but if necessary, bolt anchors.
If desired, one could start the traverse to the south summit here (about II, 1 hour one way). Otherwise, return via the now familiar normal route back towards civilization.
