The southwest ridge on Aggenstein has 5 pitches over 215 meters of climbing up to upper grade 3 difficulty (mostly II and III) and is pure enjoyment climbing. Since the climbing pitches mostly run inclined along the edge with hardly any steeper sections, the southwest ridge is a popular target for beginner climbers. However, the protection is rather moderate (belay stations with ring bolts, maximum of 3 expansion bolts per pitch), so do not be misled by the easy difficulty grade. This must be mastered securely, and a fall or slip should not happen. Due to the moderate climbing difficulty, adding mobile protection such as nuts can be well practiced. At the summit, you will be rewarded with a unique view over the Füssen lake landscape.
