The route shows almost no signs of previous climbers and, despite the general route line, allows for several variations. This means you have to find and secure the best line yourself. Therefore, alpine experience is essential, despite the low climbing difficulty. Escape routes from the ridge are difficult to access. If something goes wrong, you’re on your own.Roadbook
Shortly before Ait Omgas, turn right off RP1925 and follow the narrow road through numerous switchbacks and along the hillside to the village of Tagdicht. Drive through the village and park after a long, sharp left turn. Today’s destination is already clearly visible. Hike northward along trails and terraces, cross a gully, and make your way over boulder-strewn terrain to the start of a massive ramp.
The route now follows the right edge of the ramp, then a ridge to large ledges. You climb over the subsequent rise to get back onto the ridge. Continue along the ridge, or take a path to the left of it through a dihedral to the next ledge. After that, the crux pitch leads up to the left onto the continuation of the ridge. The rest of the route follows the ridge more or less directly, though you’ll need to pay attention to finding the best line between ridges and dihedrals. After about 20 pitches, you reach a saddle, where you descend by keeping to the right. A few pitches later, you reach the rather unspectacular summit. The descent involves scrambling down gullies and boulders, then a somewhat arduous route—mostly staying close to the rocks—over boulders, scree, and bushes back to the starting point.
