Beautiful and varied route on the "back side" of the Rax. Very scenic, with exposed climbing in the range 1-2. For us, an adventure we like to repeat.

    Safety information

Exposed, watch out for loose stones, helmet is a must!, a rope does no harm. Recently sufficient bolts are available at the belays. 50 m rope, some carabiners, quickdraws, possibly mobile protection and slings. The Wilde Gamseck is often climbed alone and unprotected. In winter definitely a serious matter.

    Roadbook

Start at the Hinternasswald parking lot, follow the direction arrows "Kaisersteig" to the material cable car of the Habsburghaus. From there continue towards Nasskamm, Hohe Nass. At the saddle towards Wilde Gamseck (signpost), the path is unmistakable. At the entry point the sign is missing, a red arrow on the rock wall shows the direction. On the Gamseck, red markings indicate the way. From the summit cross follow the path to the hiking trails. There, follow the hiking trail direction N or NE. Later, signposts appear again. The Habsburghaus and the ascent from Bärenlochgraben are visible.

For the descent suitable are: via ferratas Bärenloch, Wildfährte, Zahmes Gamseck and hiking trails Kaisersteig, Peter-Jokelsteig, Schüttersteig
