The revitalization and renovation of this ancient classic by Peter Heihs and Ernst Würdinger has brought the Eichertsteig back to life and it can now rightly be described as a rewarding climbing route in this difficulty grade. The rock quality ranges from moderate to good (in the upper part sometimes even very good!), but there are also some earthy, scruffy or crumbly sections with walking terrain in between. The protection is mostly very good - with numerous glued pitons and many (good) normal pitons. Some belay stations at trees (don't forget long slings!) and at solid glued pitons. A medium set of cams is recommended for less strong climbers. In the upper part two variants are possible, with the original exit by A. Wildenauer being somewhat more demanding. Attention in the 2nd pitch: the pitons on the left belong to the route Rum und Leere (also a variant possible, but up to 5+)!
