Durch's gotische Fenster (Köllespitze north face)
The route offers 14 pitches, mostly between IV and VI+, with partly steep climbing over 420 meters of climbing with ramps, exposed traverses, slabs, and steep wall sections. The 9th pitch is in my opinion a VII-. The route is well protected with bolts but not excessively secured and therefore far from a pleasure climb. Between the bolts climbing is mandatory, and in the easier pitches the bolt distances are also larger. Only experienced alpine climbers who master the lower 7th grade safely should attempt this route. The rock (limestone) is compact and rough. The route does not lead to the summit of Köllespitze but ends before the first prominent rock tower, the Burg. From there you abseil seven times in total. While abseiling you have to cover some meters on foot over rocky and grassy terrain to the next abseil station. Except for the eighth and the last three pitches, you climb on steep and mostly solid rock.
