Several routes in the lower difficulty range have been established at Plombergstein in St. Gilgen in recent years. The route "Filou" was added to these routes in 2014. Although this climb is more difficult than the other routes, it can also be completed without problems by less experienced climbers due to the excellent protection. Just a few meters to the right of this, the slightly easier "Clou" was established in parallel. Due to the southeast-facing location, the routes are often accessible even in winter. However, there were problems with landowners a few years ago. For this reason, the parking lot on the federal road must definitely be used.
Author’s recommendation
You can easily combine this route with another climb at Plombergstein.

Access: From the parking lot, follow the ascending side road towards the clearly visible Plombergstein. At the end of a left curve, leave this road at a signpost to the right and thus reach the AV climbing garden. Now follow a hiking trail descending along the creek. At a junction with a signpost, keep left and ascend to the start of the route "Taxus." Here, climb some meters through steep forest to the wide wall to the left of the route. The start is located a few meters horizontally to the left.
Route progress: see topo
Descent: At the exit, keep left (slightly descending tendency) always below the rocks until after about 200m you reach the hiking trail (Staffelgraben). Follow this down to the AV climbing garden and parking lot.
