Abrakadabra (Widderstein east face)
A great hike & climb combination for the more ambitious mountain type, as you first have to ascend 1000 m through the Gemsteltal valley. Afterwards, the route leads initially through broken terrain via a gully, then beginning with climbing in loose rock that becomes firmer and more reliable in further pitches. The last pitch is broke up again by an easy pitch in broken terrain. After the very nice homogeneous eighth pitch, a pleasant south ridge awaits, leading with easy climbing to the summit. At the summit, you enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view reaching from the Lechquellen mountains, the Bregenz forest, Lake Constance, the Alpine foreland, the main Allgäu ridge, the Verwall, even to the distant prominent Piz Kesch (3,418 m; Graubünden).
